【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsareusedtochemicallydeterminethemaximumquantityofoxygenthatcouldbeconsumedbybiologicalornaturalchemicalprocessesduetoimpuritiesinwater.Typicallythismeasurementisusedtomonitorandcontroloxygen-consumingpollutants,bothinorganicandorganic,indomesticandindustrialwastewaters.TherelationshipofCODtootherwaterqualityparameterssuchasTOCandTODisdescribedintheliterature.31.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthequantityofoxygenthatcertainimpuritiesinwaterwillconsume,basedonthereductionofadichromatesolutionunderspecifiedconditions.Thefollowingtestmethodsareincluded:Equation1-TestMethodA-MacroCODbyRefluxDigestionandTitrationEquation2-TestMethodB-MicroCODbySealedDigestionandSpectrometry1.2Thesetestmethodsarelimitedbythereagentsemployedtoamaximumchemicaloxygendemand(COD)of800mg/L.SampleswithhigherCODconcentrationsmaybeprocessedbyappropriatedilutionofthesample.Modifiedproceduresineachtestmethod(Section15forTestMethodAandSection24forTestMethodB)maybeusedforwatersoflowCODcontent(50mg/L).1.3Asageneralrule,CODresultsarenotaccurateifthesamplecontainsmorethan1000mg/LCl.Consequently,thesetestmethodsshouldnotbeappliedtosamplessuchasseawatersandbrinesunlessthesamplesarepretreatedasdescribedinAppendixX1.1.4Thistestmethodwasusedsuccessfullyonastandardmadeupinreagentwater.Itistheuser''sresponsibilitytoensurethevalidityofthesetestmethodsforwatersofuntestedmatrices.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSections8,15.6,and24.5.

【摘要】:DOmaybeeitheracorrosiveorpassivatingagentinboiler/steamcyclesandisthereforecontrolledtospecificconcentrationsthatarelowrelativetoenvironmentalandwastewatertreatmentsamples.Out-of-specificationDOconcentrationsmaycausecorrosioninboilersystems,whichleadstocorrosionfatigueandcorrosionproductsx2014;alldetrimentaltothelifeandefficientoperationofasteamgenerator.TheefficiencyofDOremovalfromboilerfeedwaterbymechanicalorchemicalmeans,orboth,maybemonitoredbycontinuouslymeasuringtheDOconcentrationbeforeandaftertheremovalprocesswithon-lineinstrumentation.DOmeasurementisalsoacheckforairleakageintotheboilerwatercycle.Guidelinesforfeedwatertohigh-pressureboilerswithallvolatiletreatmentgenerallyrequireafeedwaterDOconcentrationbelow5x03BC;g/L(3).Boilerfeedwaterwithoxygenatedtreatmentismaintainedinarangeof50to300x03BC;g/LDO(4).Inmicroelectronicsproduction,DOcanbedetrimentalinsomemanufacturingprocesses,forexample,causingundesirableoxidationonsiliconwafers.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheon-linedeterminationofdissolvedoxygen(DO)inwatersamplesprimarilyinrangesfrom0to500x03BC;g/L(ppb),althoughhigherrangesmaybeusedforcalibration.On-lineinstrumentationisusedforcontinuousmeasurementsofDOinsamplesthatarebroughtthroughsamplelinesandconditionedfromhigh-temperatureandhigh-pressuresourceswhennecessary.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardsstatements,see6.5.
