【摘要】:ThisSAERecommendedPracticedescribesalaboratorytestprocedureformeasuringthevibrationdampingperformanceofasystemconsistingofadampingmaterialbondedtoavibratingcantileveredsteelbar.ThebarisoftencalledtheOberstbar(namedafterDr.H.Oberst)andthetestmethodisoftencalledtheOberstBarTestMethod.Materialsfordampingtreatmentsmayincludehomogeneousmaterials,nonhomogeneousmaterials,oracombinationofhomogeneous,nonhomogeneous,and/orinelastic(suchasaluminumfoil)materials.Thesematerialsarecommonlyinstalledintransportationsystemssuchasgroundvehicles,marineproducts,andaircrafttoreducevibrationatresonance,andthusreducethenoiseradiationfromthevibratingsurface.however,thetestmethoddescribedhereinwasdevelopedtorankordermaterialsusedinPASSENGERVEHICLEAPPLICATIONSwithsteelsheetmetalandmaynotbefullyapplicabletoothersituations.Dampingperformanceformostmaterialsandsystemsvariesasafunctionofbothfrequencyandtemperature.Accordingly,thistestprocedureincludesprovisionsformeasuringdampingoverarangeoffrequenciesandtemperaturesfoundapplicabletomanytransportationsystems.Themeasureddampingperformancewillbeexpressedintermsofcompositelossfactor,,withinthefrequencyrangeofapproximately100to1000Hz,andovertheusefultemperaturerangeforthegivenapplication.Thetermcompositereferstothesteelanddampingmaterialcombination.ThetestproceduredescribedhereisbasedonthemethoddescribedinASTME756.However,thisSAEdocumentdiffersfromtheASTME756methodinthattheSAEpracticespecifiesthebarmaterial,thebarsize,andthemountingconditionsofthetestsamples.Thisdocumentprovidesameansofrankorderingdampingmaterialsaccordingtotheircompositelossfactorvaluesfromtestsamplesthatrepresenttypicalpassengervehicleapplications.TheASTME756shouldbefollowedtodeterminethedampingpropertiesofmaterialsalone,includinglossfactor,YoungsmodulusE,andshearmodulusG.
