【摘要】:Themoisturecontentofactivatedcarbonisoftenrequiredtodefineandexpressitspropertiesinrelationtothenetweightofthecarbon.Themoisturecontentofactivatedcarbonpackedintypicalshippingcontainerswillusuallyincreaseduringtransportationandstorage.Usersofactivatedcarboninapplicationswherelowmoisturecontentisimportantshouldbeawareofthiseffect.1.1Thesetestmethodsprovidethreeproceduresforthedeterminationofthemoisturecontentofactivatedcarbon.Theproceduresmayalsobeusedtodrysamplesrequiredforothertests.Theoven-dryingandmoisturebalancemethodsareusedwhenwateristheonlyvolatilematerialpresentandisinsignificantquantities,andtheactivatedcarbonisnotheat-sensitive(someactivatedcarbonscanignitespontaneouslyattemperaturesaslowas150x00B0;C).Thexylene-extractionmethodisusedwhenacarbonisknownorsuspectedtobeheatsensitiveortocontainnonwater-miscibleorganiccompoundsinsteadoforinadditiontowater.Theoven-dryingmethoddescribedinthesetestmethodsmaybeusedasthereferencefordevelopmentofinstrumentaltechniquesformoisturedeterminationinactivatedcarbon.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
