【摘要】:Thispracticeisintendedtoprovideacompletewrittenaccountofthecaseathandinsuchafashionastoallowanotherindividualtointerprettheparticularsofthecase.Thispracticeissuggestedfordocumentingtransitoryconditionsanddatathatmaychangeshortlyafteranincidentandbelostforeverifnotproperlyandpromptlydocumented.Theprimaryuseofthispracticeistopreservepertinentinformationforusebytechnicalexpertsandothertechnicalpersonnelwhomaybecalledupontoreconstructtheeventssurroundingtheincident.1.1Thispracticecoversguidelinesforthecollectionandpreservationofinformationandphysicalevidenceandthepreparationofadocumentationreportrelativetoanyincident(s)involvingpersonalinjury,propertydamage,commercialloss,orcriminalactswhichmayreasonablybeexpectedtobethesubjectoflitigation.1.2Theapproachoutlinedisrecommendedasgoodprofessionalpracticeeventhoughthefactsandissuesofeachsituationrequirespecificconsideration,andmayinvolvemattersnotexpresslydealtwithherein.Noteveryportionofthisdocumentmaybeapplicabletoeveryincidentorinvestigation.Itisuptotheindividualpreparingthereporttoapplytheappropriaterecommendedproceduresinthisguidetoaparticularincidentorinvestigation.Inaddition,itisrecognizedthattimeandresourcelimitationsorexistingpoliciesmaylimitthedegreetowhichtherecommendationsinthisdocumentwillbeappliedinagiveninvestigation.Theresponsibilityoftheindividualpreparingthereport(oranyonewhohandlesorexaminesevidence)forevidencepreservation,andthescopeofthatresponsibilityvariesbasedonsuchfactorsasthejurisdiction,thestatusoftheindividualasapublicofficialorprivatesectorinvestigator,indicationsofcriminalconduct,andapplicablelawsandregulations.1.2.1Ifcompliancewiththisstandardisclaimed,justificationsforanydeviationsfromthisstandardmustbedocumented.
