【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulforthedirectmeasurementofthethicknessesofmetalliccoatingsandofindividuallayersofcompositecoatings,particularlyforlayersthinnerthannormallymeasuredwiththelightmicroscope.Thistestmethodissuitableforacceptancetesting.Thistestmethodisforthemeasurementofthethicknessofthecoatingoveraverysmallareaandnotoftheaverageorminimumthicknessperse.Accuratemeasurementsbythistestmethodgenerallyrequireverycarefulsamplepreparation,especiallyatthegreatermagnifications.Thecoatingthicknessisanimportantfactorintheperformanceofacoatinginservice.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofmetalliccoatingthicknessesbyexaminationofacrosssectionwithascanningelectronmicrosope(SEM).1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
